授業の目的?内容 ／Course Objectives	「英語 II (IE)」に引き続き，多様なテーマに関する読解?調査?ディスカッションを通して4技能および語彙?文法?読解ストラテジーの統合的学習を行う．この授業では，読んだ内容を建設的に批判した上で，問題解決方法を調査し，自らの知識?経験と結びつけて提案することが求められる．当該単元毎に内容を評価し，自分の意見を含めて文章にまとめる．この他に課外活動として多読学習を行う．Involves integrated learning of English in four skills, vocabulary, grammar, and reading skills. Students are requested to read the text critically, conduct research on the issue, and make a proposal for the solution while referring to their individual knowledge and experience. The final product is a short summary essay including personal opinions for each unit. Along with the main course is extensive reading provided.
授業の形式?方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	本授業では(1) manaba を教材提示?課題回収?評言返送に用いる。(2) グループ学習等により学生同士の意見交換の機会を設ける，(3) 教員は授業に先立ち必要な教材を提供する。In this class we (1) use manaba (LMS) for presenting learning materials, collecting assignments, and giving feedback,(2) provide opportunities of exchanging opinions among students by introducing group work and peer reviews of oral/written products, and (3) distribute learning materials in advance in combination with real-time classes. 授業は英語で行われ，学生も英語で参加する．受講者は毎回の授業において積極的に発言すると共に内容に関する十分な準備をして臨むことが求められる. English is the medium of instruction as well as the the language of communication for both teacher-student and student-student interaction. Students’ active commitment as well as sufficient preparation for each class are essential. 本授業は基本的に対面で行う. 授業内容によってオンラインで実施することもある.  This course will be basically taught face-to-face.  Some classes may be conducted online (e.g., Zoom), depending on the class content.
事前?事後学修の内容 ／Before After Study	各回とも十分な予習（目安20～40分)?復習(目安40～20分)を必要とする．配分は課題の内容による．また，課題は必ず期限までに提出すること．Requires sufficient preview (20 - 40 minutes) and review (40 - 20 minutes) of each class. Time allocation depends on the target task. Assignments must be submitted by the deadline. 多読目標：250 pages or 100,000 words per semester

評価方法 ／Evaluation	課題 assignments (30%)，語彙小テスト vocabulary quiz (20%)，多読関連 extensive reading (20%)，期末試験 term examination (30%)． 課題に対する評価（フィードバック）は口頭?個別書面?オンライン掲示板等諸種のコミュニケーションツールを用いて行う．また、各授業において原則的に第14週１回目（27回目）に期末試験を行い，結果のフィードバックをその後行う． The teacher’s feedback on the assignment tasks will be provided through various communication tools including oral instruction, written individual notice, and online bulletin board. The term examination is conducted in the first class of the 14th week (or 27th class) and feedback of the results will be given in the subsequent class.
